Ahhh, I took a long hiatus from this blog, and I know a few of you were upset that I never officially ended it. That's because it's not over! I plan to keep up the blog as I visit Jordan over the next few months and especially when I move out here for a good and we get to really experience San Francisco and California.
I'm in Cupertino right now, which is where Jordan lives near his work at Apple. I flew into San Jose on Friday night and Jordan had a makeshift picnic ready for me when we got back to his apartment - because he knew I'd be hungry after a 5 hour flight :) He had wine, salami, cheeses, bread, and fruit all ready to go! I was so tired that the next day I slept in until 10am, which would have been 1pm Michigan time. Finals week must have caught up with me.
On Saturday we took Caltrain into the city and had dinner at McCormick and Kuleto's in Ghirardelli Square. My parents had given a gift certificate to Jordan for Valentine's Day, and it was pretty good. I bet the views are amazing during the day, but even while it was dark out we still enjoyed seeing the lights of the huge cruise ship passing by. The next morning we headed over to the Lower Pac Heights neighborhood, which is top on our list of potential neighborhoods to move to in the city. We walked around Filmore Street for awhile and then stumbled on a park in the area where we sat and soaked up a bit of sun. Around noon we met up with my friend Jordan (the girl) and her boyfriend Sean who live in the area for brunch at a Vietnamese restaurant. It was great to see them and have (my) Jordan meet everyone.
Now that we're back in Cupertino, we've just been hanging out at Jordan's apartment, visiting Trader Joe's to stock up on food, and I've been planning my study schedule for the CPA exams (which is supposed to start tomorrow by the way)! Jordan has been a little busy at work because of a presentation tomorrow but hopefully by the end of the week he won't have to work such long days. Today I went to Apple to have lunch with Jordan and his friend Andy in the Apple cafeteria. Jordan has been raving about it since he started, and I have to say it's pretty nice for what you pay.For my family who hasn't seen pictures of Jordan's apartment (and maybe to Jordan's family as well), here's a few that I took this afternoon of the living room and kitchen.
Note: my additions include throw pillows, vase and flowers, candle holder, picture placement, and color coordinated kitchen towels. Sorry Jordan :)
I'll try to post again before I leave but we really have been homebodies for the past 3 days. Our big outing of the day today will be to the Apple store in Santa Clara to get a new iPhone for me since mine decided to quit working on Saturday night. I have suspicions that Jordan broke it so that I'd have to upgrade to the iPhone 4. Oh well! One last thing, a belated congratulations to Ryan and Pamela on their wedding last weekend! Here's a picture of Jordan and I from it. We had a blast!
Yay for more blog posts! Can't wait to see more!
